Bharat Mandir
Bharat Mandir Temple is situated at the center in Rishikesh and near the main market. This is one of the oldest temples in Rishikesh. The deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu. Raibhya Rishi made penance here and lord Vishnu appeared in front of the sage to give him blessings. In 789 A.D. on the day of Basant Panchami, a festival of Hindu religion, Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya restored the presiding God in the temple. Every year on Basant Panchami, the Shaligram is carried for a holy bath in Mayakund and then carried through the city and restored back in the temple.On the day of Akshay Tritya, the feet of the Statue of the Lord are uncovered and the person who completes 108 Parikarmas around the Lord, all of his wishes caome true and it is equivalent to the Yatra of Badrinath. Temple has small museum also. Bharat Mandir Temple is inside the Rishikesh Market area and can be reached easily from Chandrabhaga Bridge(Temple Timings: 05 AM to 11 AM and 3 PM to 09 PM).
How to reach Bharat mandir:-
Bharat mandir is located in the center of the city of Rishikesh, which is just 2km far from railway station and 1km from Roadways bus station. To reach the mandir you can have a local taxi from railway station or bus station.
